Charles Manson Up For Parole Next Week

April 5, 2012

ImageCharles Manson is up for parole again.

The convicted killer of many people including actress Sharon Tate will have his hearing next week.

Manson led his followers on a killing rampage that left seven people dead over two nights in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969.

The murders were so brutal that it is still shocking today.

In fact, it is one of the most savage murder sprees in U.S. history.

Manson who had been in jail for most of his life until the late 1960’s, formed his “family” in San Francisco and then picking up more members during his wandering travels around California.

They were loyal to him and did whatever he wanted.

Manson was trying to make it as a musician at the time, but he could not get a record deal even though the Beach Boys recorded one of his songs.

Frustrated, Manson became bitter and angry.

He was a drug user and he hurt people to get what he wanted.

His take on the world made no sense and he was crazy.

On the night of August 8, 1969, he sent out some of his followers to kill everyone who was at 10050 Cielo Drive.

After midnight, they killed five people there.

The next night, Manson went along and two more people were killed.

The murders shocked the country and celebrities went into hiding.

Manson was later caught while hiding in a cupboard during a raid.

He was convicted of the murders and sentenced to death.

In the early 1970’s, California did away with the death penalty.

Manson was automatically given a life sentence.

He has been in jail ever since.

Metro Plans To Tunnel Under Beverly Hills High School

April 5, 2012

Metro needs to forget about Beverly Hills High School.
I do believe a tunnel under BHHS would not be dangerous as Metro has said.
However, I also believe a tunnel under the school would mean the land would not be as safe as it was before.
Also, the school may need to build, rebuild or expand in the future to meet the needs of the school, its students and the city.
A tunnel would make those future endeavors much harder if not impossible.
Because our children come first, the tunnel needs to be built elsewhere.
